The Friends Academy Girls Varsity Field Hockey team continued its two game win streak with a win in overtime over New Hyde Park this past Friday, October 5th. Despite a slight scare at the end of the first half, Friends’s defense was solid the whole game and kept the game tied at 0-0. Alix Heffron broke the deadlock 1:30 into overtime off a pass from Alexa Landow to give Friends the 1-0 victory over New Hyde Park. This was the Quaker’s second overtime win of the week; the previous game, the team scored a goal (Chloe Friedman; assisted by Alexa Landow) 30 seconds into overtime to defeat the Carle Place Frogs by a score of 1-0.

On October 9th, FAFH competed against East Meadow on home turf to bring home another victory 3-0. Most recently on October 10th, the Quakers extended their winning streak to five in a row with a victory over Oyster Bay by a score of 3-1! The team takes the field again at home this Friday, October 12th at 4:15 p.m against Sewanhaka.
