FA Cross Country

The FA Cross Country team has enjoyed a lot of success this season.  Both teams, boys and girls, are in first place in their respective divisions and the majority of members from each team set new personal bests.  In addition to these personal accolades, the teams has really seemed to bond as a group. The season was highlighted by a trip to Brown for the top seven boys and girls on each team.

Both teams won the Class C Championship! This victory was followed by a 5+ hour bus ride at 7am on Friday up to the state meet in Utaca, NY. On Saturday the two teams went to Vernon-Verona Sherill High school with about 100 other runners from Nassau County for the race. In their races, the FA runners put up a good fight as they battled about 150 other runners in the State, and had to endure a grueling 3 miles of battling cold, hills, and LOTS AND LOTS of mud! The boys team finished 8th in the state and the girls team finished 7th. Our very own Kelsey Margey, 12,  took the bronze medal home!

Top seven girls: Kelsey Margey, Katrina Garry,  Molly Sullivan, Sunny Lostritto, Katie Pappas, Rosie Mangiarotti, Emily LeoGrande
