The 2013 Upper School Winter Concert

The winter concert was a great way to kick off the holiday season. December was a time full of joy and excitement. This year’s concert was exceptionally special and generated a lot of buzz from the Friends Academy community.  Mr. Tennyson and Mr. Romano led the wind ensemble in the first song of the evening, “Pink Lemonade.” Next, Mrs. Regelmann, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Maury, led the concert choir.  The choir girls walk through the audience during the song “Singing In The Rain” was a highlight of the night and greatly involved the audience. The chamber choir gave a beautiful rendition of the Godspell classic “All For The Best.” The orchestra, conducted by Mr. Liverani, followed the chamber choir and played the classic song, “Concerto Polonois”.  Then, Mr. Liverani skillfully led the symphony in “Procession of the Sardar.” The finale was a true treat as the audience participated in the performance of the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. Overall the winter concert was a huge success and all musicians that were involved should be proud of their performances.
