Information/ Reminders/ Announcements:

Halloween Dress Code Reminders:

You may dress in a costume- but it needs to be a costume and not just an opportunity for a dress down day (i.e. t-shirt and jeans and no evidence of thought given to what you are! ) Costumes should exhibit modesty! As a school that is committed to peace and non-violence, select your costume with this in consideration. Classes will select top costumes to compete in the annual Halloween Assembly Contest! NO CANDY is to be brought into the theater for the contest! (There is also a teacher category! So yes, teachers may also dress up!) If you choose to not engage in the costume event, you are expected to wear regular dress code attire.

Mid-Semester Grades and Semester One End Date

November 2nd marks the end of the first “quarter” of our school year. At this time, teachers will be entering a “calculated grade” for work done to date. The grades at this time provide students an opportunity to reset goals and identify plans of action to ensure a strong end to first semester.

Keep in mind:

  • Quarter grades are important for college Early Decision (in December).
  • Calculated grades provide more consistency for teachers and clarity for students.

The final semester 1 grade will continue to be a “cumulative” grade of work done from the beginning of school until January 11th when semester one ends.
