Last year I began working on an iPhone app. It was pretty basic at first, in fact, it only had two buttons. The app contained two images, one of my A week schedule and one of my B week schedule, and the buttons I mentioned before simply switched between the two images. Since then the app has evolved. Now, the Friends Academy “Block” schedule is hardcoded into the app. This means that FA students who download the app can specify which class they have for each block as well as their lunch period, and the app will instantly generate a digital version of their schedule. The app even senses what time it is, and throughout the day shows you your current class, tells you what your next class is, and displays a progress bar that shows how far into each class you are. To give you a better idea of how this all works, here are some screenshots.
A lot of thought and hard work has gone into making this app functional and fast, and I am happy to say that it is now available in the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/faschedule/id472827413?mt=8
If you like using this app, please check out Applause Code, an app development company that I started with my dad and brother. We are hoping to release a bunch of apps throughout the year, and currently have a game called “Drop!” for sale in the App Store.
